Herald Gaba Oolong goes through a unique finishing step after picking where the unfinished tea (maocha) is rested in a nitrogen-flushed environment; this is also known as anaerobic fermentation. We’ve found that this method accentuates the natural flavors of the tea, adding a buttery, caramel-like complexity. Our GABA tea is produced using entirely hand-picked, high-mountain oolong tea grown on Alishan mountain in Taiwan. We stand by this offering as a profoundly delicious tea that is a testament to the quality of high-mountain Alishan tea. In the cup, we find an exquisite depth of flavor and aromatic complexity uncommon amongst the many one-note oolongs on the market.
